Juventus are looking to challenge frontrunners Napoli in the race to sign Udinese’s Lazar Samardžić.
According to a tweet by Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have identified Udinese’s Lazar Samardžić as a potential signing and are looking to deprive Napoli of their target man. With the Partenopei taking longer than usual to conclude talks with the Udine-based outfits and the 21-year-old’s entourage about the transfer fee and salary agreement, the Bianconeri’s prospect of hijacking the deal is emerging as they are certain of luring the midfielder to their club.
An earlier report claimed that Walter Mazzarri’s club have set the transfer fees to €20 million but were coming short of €1 million in salary negotiations. While the issue was expected to be resolved soon, it seems like the same problem is drawing out.
As things stand, Juventus want to block the Serbian international’s transfer during this winter window and officially sign him in the summer. However, they are also discussing the prospect of signing him immediately amongst themselves if several clubs join the competition.
Premier League outfits Brighton are also readying their bid of €20 million plus bonuses of €5 million to Udinese. If Napoli doesn’t conclude negotiations fast, it will be a lost battle for them.
