Confirmation of the sum set to be pocketed by Juventus as part of Radu Drăgușin’s transfer from Genoa to Tottenham Hotspur has been confirmed late on Wednesday.
The name of defender Drăgușin has of course taken its place front and centre in the Italian media headlines over the week to date. This comes after a tug-of-war broke out for his services, between all of Bayern Munich, Napoli, Milan, and the aforementioned Tottenham.
In the end, it was the latter who emerged triumphant, owing to a deal worth a fee in the region of €30 million. And yet, confusion has nevertheless continued to surround some of the finer aspects of the transfer.
For the most part, this has come amid contrasting claims over the percentage of the sum for Drăgușin’s services owed to Juventus.
Genoa purchased the Romanian outright from the Bianconeri last summer, with the initial statement regarding the transfer having failed to mention a sell-on clause.
Ensuing reports this month, however, assured that Juve did indeed secure as much, meaning they too would benefit financially from Drăgușin’s move to England.
And, as alluded to above, late this evening, as much has been confirmed.
The info comes by way of Bianconeri insider Romeo Agresti, who has revealed that the board at the Allianz Stadium are set for a cash injection of €4.2 million. The sell on clause, contrary to what was reported, applies to the percentage of profit earned and not from the sale money generated by Genoa.
