Marko Arnautovic set to miss Inter’s Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid

Inter striker Marko Arnautovic is set to miss the Nerazzurri’s upcoming Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

The Austrian was on the scoresheet for Inter against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League. He had come on for Marcus Thuram and despite a miss that was criticised, Arnautovic had found the back of the net to hand Inter a vital lead in the tie.

The striker came on against Bologna today but picked up what looked like a muscle injury. Sky Italia state that the veteran seems destined to miss the second leg against Atleti.

Arnautovic was holding his flexor on the right thigh and he has picked up a similar injury earlier in the season against Empoli. While medical tests will be carried out later, it seems almost likely that the player would not be available for the clash against the Spanish giants in midweek.
