Maurizio Sarri increasingly closer to departing Lazio

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is increasingly closer to leaving the club at the end of the current season.

Sarri’s future at Lazio has been questioned in recent months as they are currently not on track to finish inside the Champions League places and they were knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich.

Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) have reported that Lazio and Sarri are increasingly distant. His exit at the end of the season now seems probable, as the relationship with CEO Claudio Lotito continues to be rather problematic and that has been the case for a while now.

The Biancocelesti have already been looking at potential replacements and the most liked name is Monza boss Raffaele Palladino, but Igor Tudor is also being considered. Another name of interest is Genoa boss Alberto Gilardino, who has impressed at the Rossoblu. Two former Lazio players are also potential options and they are Porto boss Sergio Conceição and Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni.
