Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis reveals he told Rudi Garcia to ‘f*** off’ on sacking

Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis has revealed how he informed former manager Rudi Garcia about his exit from the club.

The Partenopei have had two managers this season and for fans, both appointments have been rather underwhelming, leading to criticism for De Laurentiis. Garcia’s job was initially on the line but due to lack of replacements, he stayed on for some weeks before the axe came down on the Frenchman later.

Igor Tudor seemed like a candidate to replace him, but Walter Mazzarri was handed control on a short-term deal. De Laurentiis recently spoke at a Napoli press conference and he revealed how he informed Garcia about his exit, revealing that he told the former boss to ‘f*** off’ after the game against Empoli.

He said (via TMW): “When on the day of the presentation he said that he hadn’t seen Napoli’s matches, I didn’t believe him. But then I realized that he wasn’t using his new purchases and that he wanted to continue on his path. I gave him some chances, so as not to send him away immediately, since otherwise it would have been said that De Laurentiis always does as he wants. Why did I send him away? Because the last match, the one against Empoli, I pointed out to him that in my opinion he was making a mistake and he replied ‘let me do it’. If someone responds like that you either tell them to f*** off right away or shut up.”

He further said: “During the break I went down to the locker room and said to him ‘ what the f*** are you doing? Do you really want to get sent away? ‘. And in the end that’s exactly what happened to her. Once the match was over I told him to f** off .”

Garcia’s career was on the low after his sacking at Al Nassr and his appointment at Napoli was certainly strange and some fans would still argue that he should have been sacked earlier.
