Porto’s Mehdi Taremi set to sign Inter contract soon

Inter are already looking towards next season with Porto striker Mehdi Taremi close to securing a summer move to Serie A.

Sky Sport Italia confirms that an intermediary for the player, Federico Pastorello, visited Inter headquarters on Wednesday, but has yet to sit down with CEO Giuseppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio to discuss terms.

The 31-year-old, who is currently representing Iran at the Asia Cup, is out of contract in the summer with the Nerazzurri now in pole-position to secure his services.

The portal claims that an agreement is likely to be made after Taremi’s return to Europe, where he has currently made 15 appearances and scored three goals so far this term for the Portuguese giants.

Taremi arrived at Porto in the summer of 2020 from Rio Ave FC for a fee of €4.73 million and whilst Inter fans will be looking for more high-profile signings ahead of the new campaign, boss Simone Inzaghi will welcome more strength in depth to his current squad.
