Romelu Lukaku after Europa League draw v Feyenoord: “I’m only focused on Roma, no point talking about the future”

Roma striker Romelu Lukaku was recently asked about his future at the Serie A giants after the club’s 1-1 draw against Feyenoord in the first leg of the Europa League play-off round.

Feyenoord had initially taken the lead through Quilindschy Hartman and things seemed to be going in their favour until Lukaku grabbed a goal of his own to make it 1-1. Despite the Dutch side’s attempts, Roma held onto a vital draw and they will now hope to finish their job in the second leg.

Goals have dried up for Lukaku in recent weeks and he was asked by Sky Italia (via TMW) about his performances and his future at Roma. The Belgian revealed that he is currently only focused on playing for the Giallorossi.

The 30-year-old said: “Now I’m focused on Roma, there’s no point in talking about the future now. I want to help Roma win.”

On scoring the key goal for Roma, the striker said: “Lately it was a bit difficult because I wasn’t scoring but I continued to work doing the things the coach asked of me, today I was lucky because I hit it badly but the movement was good. We are growing as a team, the season is still long , we expect them in Rome next week.”

Roma have got the better of Feyenoord in the recent past, as they knocked them out of the Europa League last season and also beat them in the Conference League final two seasons ago.
