Stefano Pioli on his future after Milan: “Too attached to the club to think about anything else”

Milan boss Stefano Pioli has commented about his future, stating that he is too attached to the club to think about anything else and will take time to make a decision.

The Rossoneri had announced recently that Pioli will leave in the summer after an agreement was reached with his entourage regarding a termination. Yesterday, he managed his last game at the club and was showered with ‘Pioli’s on fire’ chants by the fans.

After the tie, the Italian was asked about his future in a chat with Sky Italia (via TMW) and he revealed that he will make a decision about his next destination in the next few days.

He said: “I hope to find and meet people who make me understand that I can build and follow a special path like it was here. I would like to receive that feeling that I lived here. This means having ambitions, it means being able to manage the squad. But I don’t know anything now, I’m too attached to the club to think about anything else. We’ll see in the next few days I don’t feel tired and then we’ll see.”

The Italian also stated that he gave his all at Milan and thanked the club and the fans for giving him the chance to succeed, describing Milan as a ‘magical’ place.

“I gave my all, everything, but I also received a lot, from the players to the fans. I am proud and happy with this experience. Then with clarity I will meet with my staff and we will have to analyze improve and grow. However, I come out calm and improved. I have compared myself with quality players, with quality managers and with a quality culture. What will I miss most? A beautiful, magical place.”
