Serie A side Atalanta seemed set to pocket a significant amount from Edersonโs sale to Manchester United. The deal fell through โ possibly due to medical reasons and this has impacted La Deaโs market.
Newcastle United have been mentioned as a suitor but there is a chance the Brazilian can now stay at Atalanta.
LโEco Di Bergamo report that Atalantaโs plans have turned upside down. Since the deal to Manchester United took about a month, they see the failure as a serious blow.
Plans and objectives now change. First and foremost, with Ederson in the squad, they need one less midfielder. But with Ederson staying, some other big names can possible depart Bergamo this summer.
Now, discussions have been held with the midfielderโs entourage about a possible renewal. His current deal runs out in 2027 and La Dea now plan to keep him in the squad and inculcate him into the first-team, while also keeping him in the long-term.
There is a chance he only signs a one-year bridge renewal. It will protect his value, so that a sale in 2027 can go through.
