Serie A side Inter have been in the race for Tottenham’s Cristian Romero but the deal has been held up by the lack of exits. Now, it is Arsenal who have attempted a shock move, as the player heads towards the Lilywhites’ exit door.
Alfredo Pedulla has reported about the Argentine, saying that Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are now in direct contact over a transfer.
The Spanish side are moving forward with the deal, taking advantage of the fact that Inter are yet to close the move despite an agreement in principle. They are yet to move on Benjamin Pavard, who has been offered to a lot of clubs but there has been no club for him so far.
Even Arsenal have been pushing hard for Romero in recent days. But the deal remains borderline impossible because of the frosty relationship between the London rivals, which is only helping Atletico Madrid.
Los Rojiblancos should find no problems in agreeing personal terms with Romero and would also be willing to offer Spurs more than Inter were.
