Crystal Palace have rejected an opening proposal from Juventus for striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, as the English club holds firm on their valuation of the Frenchman.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri submitted an offer consisting of a paid loan for โฌ2m with a conditional obligation to buy for โฌ28m. This clause would have been triggered specifically by Juventusโ qualification for the Europa League next season. That was well within reach for the Old Lady.
However, the Eagles have deemed the total package of โฌ30m to be insufficient. Instead, Crystal Palace are demanding a permanent transfer without complex loan structures, setting a clear price tag of โฌ40m to sanction the 28-year-oldโs departure this month.
While Juventus have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the player, they must now decide whether to increase their financial commitment to meet Palaceโs demands or look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.
