Serie A side Fiorentina spent significantly in the summer transfer window but are yet to register a win, having picked up a 2-1 loss to Torino on Saturday. Despite that, Fabio Grosso is hanging on to his job.
La Gazzetta dello Sport โ via ViolaNews, report that the Fiorentina ownership isnโt happy with how the season has started. They believe investments have been made to change the course of the club but Grosso hasnโt quite delivered yet.
Temporarily though, the Italian has been entrusted to turn things around. He has been given time until the international break for that and has three games to keep his job.
They take on Venezia next, followed by Pisa in the Coppa Italia and then a league game against Napoli. How Fiorentina perform will decide Grossoโs future, even though the Italian is only months into his job after a good spell at Sassuolo.
The decision from the club does hold sense โ even if many will suggest otherwise. The number of signings made in the summer have made it difficult for Grosso to find the right combinations, as evident from the changes in the XI in every game. Giving him some more games will help the Italian find the right fits for his system.
