Serie A side Milan have been interested in Santiago Gimenezโs exit for many months now but a deal can now finally go through this summer, with Lazio and Fiorentina in the race for the Mexicanโs signature.
Daniele Longo has reported that the striker is on the transfer list and Milan would only have him as a third-choice, behind Goncalo Ramos and Francesco Camarda. Further, there are doubts around the Mexico manโs fitness, as he picked up major problems across last season and it hasnโt helped his form.
As a result, his agent Rafaela Pimenta is also attempting to find a new club, with Milan open to an initial loan with an obligation to buy exit.
Fiorentina have made initial contact and Gimenez could come in as a replacement for Moise Kean. Lazio also have strong interest, but they would have to execute a sale before signing Gimenez. The Roman side would appeal to Gimenez more and this could be key in the deal.

Exit long-time coming
Gimenez has never consistently offered value to Milan and his exit is long overdue. He has never fit into the clubโs plans, even when Max Allegri tried to have him as part of the project. Injuries havenโt helped but it does feel like Milan have moved on and the player himself should be desperate for a transfer.
