Nottingham Forest back in for Davide Frattesi and why deal wonโ€™t be easy

Serie A side Inter were close to selling Davide Frattesi to Nottingham Forest in January. Even if a deal didnโ€™t go through then, it is back in the fray now โ€“ even if it wonโ€™t be as easy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the mdifielder is now finally ready to leave Inter and has his bags packed.ย

Nottingham Forestโ€™s January deal finds a mention but the Tricky Trees remain interested even now. At the same time, the Premier League isnโ€™t the only possible destination for the Italy international.

Roma have been monitoring Frattesi for a while and there is still a possibility of a swap involving Manu Kone. Evan Ndickaโ€™s inclusion in a swap has also been discussed, with the Giallorossi keen on earning capital gains due to skirmishes with Financial Fairplay.

In the meantime, the 26-year-old has bid farewell to his teammates and is only waiting for the right offers to arrive.

No European football can impact Nottingham Forest

During the 2025/26 campaign, Nottingham Forest played in the Europa League, also reaching the semi-finals of the competition. They donโ€™t the boast the same at a time when Roma have qualified for the Champions League themselves.

This should make a deal for Frattesi a bit complex. The midfielder has been playing in the Champions League in the last three seasons and came through Romaโ€™s youth setup. That can prove to be a lure which canโ€™t be turned down.
