As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Sassuolo midfielder Daryl Bakola is attracting interest from the Premier League.
This is particularly bad news for Juventus, who are reported to be leading the race for his signature in Serie A.
The 18-year-old has quickly raced to the top of the Bianconeriโs wishlist after a dazzling cameo against them during Sassuoloโs 3โ2 victory, which included an assist.
Juve would be even more sensitive about their midfield targets, having been ravaged by an early-season injury crisis in the middle of the park that has played no small part in their patchy start to the season.
Little reason for festivities
It is to be noted that it was Juve CEO Giovanni Carnevali who brought Bakola to Sassuolo for โฌ10 million from Marseille, but those old links would mean little to the Neroverdi when it comes to getting maximum profit for their players. Case in point, earlier in the summer they moved Tarik Muharemoviฤ to Leeds United for โฌ37 million.
While Transfermarkt currently value Bakola at โฌ15 million, CdS believe his valuation to soon be reaching twice that.
Carnevali himself pushed for a Premier League move for the Bosnian in his final days as Sassuolo CEO, and while he tried to bring him back to Juve after his move to Turin, his efforts went in vain.
If the expected Premier League interest does materialise next summer, Juve may find it very hard to lure the teenage sensation to Turin.
