As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are considering bringing in Simone Inzaghi if they decide to sack Luciano Spalletti.
Things are not looking for Spalletti and The Old Lady. Theyโre seventh in Serie A, having won just two of their last five games across all competitions, and dealing with an injury crisis.
Results are everything at the end of the day, even more so at Juventus. If they donโt arrive, the management will have to make a decision, even though they are currently publicly backing Spalletti.
Inzaghi makes for a safe yet promising choice. He has excelled at Inter and Lazio, two vastly different clubs with very lofty ambitions, showcasing that he can adapt as well as deliver under pressure.
While he left Inter after a humiliating Champions League final, marking a second runner-up finish in the competition within two years, he could at least help the Bianconeri re-establish themselves at the top of Serie A and make them Champions League regulars, all the while being able to work with limited finances and players who may not immediately fit his preference.
As things stand, Spalletti stays, but his team need to pick up wins in quick succession if that it to remain the case.
