Serie A side Inter have seen Federico Dimarco become a vital player since last season, when he was one of the most creative players on the planet. His importance hasnโt reduced but Inter are yet to tie him down to a new deal.
Tuttomercatoweb report that negotiations between the two parties began several weeks ago. New sporting director Dario Baccin has spoken to the wing-backโs entourage and there is a mutual desire to progress talks further.
For now, Dimarco earns โฌ4m per season, which is the same as John Stones. Seven players earn more than him and the wing-back wants a wage that showcases his importance to the club.
That is why Dimarco and his entourage have told Inter about their demand for โฌ6m per season, which is likely to be key in the discussions. Further talks are needed to iron out an agreement for that, with Inter also yet to seek an approval from the higher-ups.
But this is also slowing down talks and Inter will soon decide their next steps as well.
