Serie A side Milan have made a host of dramatic changes to their management team, with Max Allegri now sacked. This is likely to impact a lot of players, who had a strong relationship with the Italian.
Tuttomercatoweb note that one player who can now depart is Luka Modric, who is yet to sign a renewal at the Rossoneri. One of the conditions he had for staying was Allegri’s stay.
The two had an excellent relationship and Modric also seemed close to the Italian’s coaching staff. His future is now uncertain again and this can eventually lead to his premature exit from the club and a failure to renew his deal as well.
He also wanted the club to seal Champions League football. The failure to do that is certain to add further doubt about the Croatian’s presence next season.
Modric exit massive blow
The midfielder has been key to setting the tone in midfield for Milan. He has been one of their best players in a disappointing campaign and when things were right, he was arguably their best player too.
He has shown an ability to take a leadership role, which will make his loss come as a massive blow. There were suggestions he could have joined the club’s coaching staff and that would’ve gone a long way in establishing a deeper connect between the staff and the Rossoneri.
The squad also has a host of younger players too. They could’ve learnt a lot from someone like Modric but the chance has now been snatched away.
