Pirlo, Batistuta & others obtain UEFA A coaching badge

Andrea Pirlo took his first steps towards football management by obtaining the UEFA A license, following the completion of the FIGCโ€™s Settore Tecnico course at the federationโ€™s training complex in Coverciano.

Eight other well-known football stars who completed the course alongside Pirlo, included: Roma and Fiorentina icon Gabriel Batistuta, recently-retired Thiago Motta, former Parma and Napoli centre-back, Paolo Cannavaro, World Cup champion Alberto Gilardino,ย former Milan defender Daniele Bonera, ex-Lazio star Matuzalรฉm, former Milan left-back Josรฉ Chamot and Juve strongman Paolo Montero.

The qualification means they can manage any youth team, womenโ€™s team and menโ€™s team upto Serie Cโ€”the third-division in Italian football.

They can also register as assistant managers in Serie A and Serie B, but will need further study and experience before they can take up the main job in the top two divisions.
