Speaking to Sky Sport Italia ahead of Milan’s midweek trip to Genoa to play Sampdoria, Hakan Çalhanoğlu discussed manager Stefano Pioli’s recent contract extension, while also touching on his own future.
“I don’t want to return to the Bundesliga, I want to be here. I chose Milan with my heart, I still want to wear this shirt.”
“[Pioli] is an important figure, and not just for me. He asks for our opinions when we do video analysis, and he’s done a great job in a difficult period, together with his staff. I’m very happy [about the extension], I think it’s been difficult for him. Everyone was writing about Rangnick, but he’s always been professional about it and is working really for us, to improve the team as much as possible. I’m happy that he’s staying.”
