Italian FA to aim for 20th May Serie A restart

La Repubblica are reporting today that the FIGC are looking to set out plans in order to see out the rest of the Italian football season, which is currently suspended as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although it would depend on government measures, the federation is aiming to start training sessions again by the start of May, and begin playing fixtures by the 20th of the same month or on the 2nd of June.

While the measures are only at the discussion stage for the moment, they could include carrying out Covid-19 tests on all league players. These would form part of a study, ordered by the Ministry of Sports, and could also implement training sessions in small groups of players in order to reduce the rate of contamination.
