Italian Sports Minister Spadafora sets out conditions for resuming training sessions

Speaking to Rai 1‘s news broadcast, transcribed in La Repubblica, Italian Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora discussed the measures to be taken in order for full training sessions and the domestic season to start again.

“The scientific committee has asked for changes to the FIGC’s medical protocol. For example, should there be a positive case during training, the squad and the whole staff should be quarantined with no external contact. Or that it should be the team doctors that take on all the responsibilites of implementing the protocol. Or that the many molecular tests planned for the players are not done to the detriment of all the other citizens. If the FIGC accepts these recommendations, training sessions will surely be able to start again on the 18th May”

“We’ll need at least another week to see the infection rate to then decide on the season. In the meantime it’s clear that on the 18th of May training should start again for all of the other team sports”
