Zaniolo on transfer speculation: “Roma is everything to me. I hope to stay here for many years.”

Speaking to Italian paper Il Messaggero, Roma rising star Nicolò Zaniolo responded to transfer speculation linking him to Juventus, reassuring fans that he was intent on staying in the capital. The midfielder also discussed a potential salary cut as well as the prospect of playing in Euro 2021.

“Roma is everything to me, the club has given me indescribable emotions ever since the debut at the Bernabéu. It’s made me celebrate, play at the Olimpico and feel loved by the fans. So I don’t see any reason to change clubs and I hope to stay here for many years.”

“[Salary cuts] are the type of thing that should be discussed internally first, then made aware to the public. I hope we can come to a solution concerning the whole of Italian football.”

“Right now it’s difficult to have positive emotions because we are all stuck at home, and it’s a very difficult period. Of course, being able to hope to play at the Euros again is great, hopefully I can get there at my best level.”
