Portuguese winger Rafael Leao is set to start for Milan in their Serie A opener against Sampdoria, with Sandro Tonali also expected to start in midfield.
La Gazzetta dello Sport today have provided some details about Milan’s line-up for Monday, claiming that Leao will start over Ante Rebic on the left side. Stefano Pioli is said to have been impressed by the attitude and performance of Sandro Tonali in pre-season and the youngster will start in midfield beside Ismael Bennacer.
Mike Maignan will be between the sticks and another new signing in Olivier Giroud will start upfront, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured. Pioli is expected to keep the 4-2-3-1 in tact, with Alexis Saelemakers and Brahim Dias to start on the right and at number ten respectively.
Like last season, Fikayo Tomori will be partnered by Simon Kjaer, flanked by Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria.
