The agent of Juventus midfielder Arthur has revealed that the midfielder will stay at Liverpool in January.
The Brazilian joined Liverpool on transfer deadline day in a dramatic summer move, which hasn’t quite worked out. While he initially failed to break into the first-team at Anfield, an injury has kept the Brazilian out of action till next year. Jurgen Klopp revealed that his injury is ‘serious’.
Arthur’s agent Federico Pastorello spoke to Tuttomercatoweb recently and he provided an update about the situation of the former Barcelona midfielder.
He stated: “In January, he will stay at Liverpool, 100%. It’s an aspect that has never been under discussion, I don’t know who has questioned the rumors relating to his possible return to Turin but that is not the case, absolutely. It is not foreseen in the contract and there is no possibility because no one has questioned his stay.”
He further stated: “As far as next season is concerned, the current one ends and then we’ll see: there isn’t a real right of redemption, but obviously if Allegri continues at Juve, a solution will have to be found. So when Liverpool want to renew their loan or make an offer, I think they’ll find fertile ground.”
Arthur had joined Juve from Barcelona in a controversial swap deal which involved Miralem Pjanic. During his time at the Old Lady, the midfielder made 63 appearances in all competitions and he has scored one goal, racking up a single assist. Last season, he made 20 Serie A appearances.
