Ismael Bennacer close to signing new Milan contract

Ismael Bennacer is now close to signing a new deal with Milan, despite interest from English clubs.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported about the situation of Bennacer at Milan, stating that while Enzo Raiola’s involvement in the player’s case suggested that the Algerian could leave and it was a good opportunity for other clubs, that does not seem to be the case anymore.

Milan are quite optimistic about the signature of the new deal and it could arrive soon. Today, Bennacer earns €1.5 million per season but the new deal will make sure that he will earn €4 million per season plus bonuses. The new deal will place him as the leader of the team, alongside Sandro Tonali.

The midfielder has already joined up with the Milan side but from Wednesday onwards, full preparations for the second half of the season will begin. After that, Enzo Raiola will meet Milan for Bennacer’s contract and Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will be able to devote time to the deal. Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with the player in recent days.
