Barcelona push for Milan’s Kessie

Barcelona are said to be pushing for a move involving Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, whose contract runs out in the summer.

SportItalia’s Gianluigi Longari has reported that Barcelona are indeed looking to sign Kessie and there is already a verbal agreement in place between the player and the Catalan club. The last meeting involving the player’s entourage and the club took place in the last week of January but the issue Barca faced is that, the player’s agent raised the demands soon after and any potential agreement from the past was rendered useless.

There is no shortage of interest from other clubs for Kessie, as Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with him in the past. But Barcelona’s willingness to do a deal could prove key and that could make Kessie prefer the Spanish club.

Milan’s hopes of renewing his deal are now at a minimum, as they look to sort out the contract situation of multiple players in the side.
