Bologna ready to sell Arthur Theate amid interest from West Ham United

Arthur Theate’s future at Bologna remains uncertain, with the Italian club considering selling the Belgian this summer amid interest from West Ham United.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna could sell Arthur Theate for a transfer fee of around €10million in the approaching summer transfer window.

There is a general feeling around Rossoblù that head coach Siniša Mihajlović could opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation from the start of the next season, which could result in the 21-year-old losing his permanent place in the team’s starting line-up.

Signed from Oostende in the summer of 2021, Theate made 31 Serie A appearances for Bologna in a more conservative 3-5-2 formation in the 2021/22 campaign. Having played in various positions across the defence, he has also amassed two goals and one assist in the league.

But a change in the system could ultimately lead to the club parting ways with the players considered surplus to the manager’s requirements. Theate would like to join West Ham United, who could offer him European football next season.
