“Brutal” Antonio Conte training session leaves Spurs players collapsed

Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are currently in South Korea, taking part in their preparation ahead of the 2022/23 season.

According to Football.London, Spurs manager Antonio Conte held an open training session on Monday, with visitors in droves arriving at the Seoul World Cup Stadium to observe the drills.

A gruelling session saw star players like Harry Kane and Son Heung-min struggling with the intensity of the training and leaving the field without completing the respective session.

Journalist Alasdair Gold was present on the scene to follow the details. Per his assessment, Spurs players underwent a laborious two-hour training session before being told to cover multiple sets of full-pitch runs, which left a certain number of players rolling on the ground.

A favourite for the home crowd, Son Heung-min went down after feeling the pace of the routine. The crowd went silent as they saw Son lying on the floor, but the hands of Harry Kane helped the Korean re-join te group.

Nevertheless, none of Son, Kane, Yves Bissouma, and Japhet Tanganga could finish the drill as they had to withdraw during the last set of runs. Spurs forward Troy Parrott was full of energy, leading the bunch during the final set of the full-pitch running drill.

Almost 6,000 fans visited the stadium in Seoul to witness Conte’s team train. Considered one of the most demanding managers in the professional circuit, Conte is already asking a lot from the players in his first pre-season with the London-based side.

After a miserable start to the Premier League last season, Spurs managed to secure the Champions League football for the 2022/23 campaign, owing to some fantastic results influenced by the arrival of Conte. It looks as if the Italian aspires to achieve something more vibrant this season with the Lilywhites.
