Former Serie A club Catania is edging close to having been closed down due to lack of ownership.
La Sicilia claim today that Catania are now one step away from โabyssโ as no offers have come forward for the clubโs ownership. There is now a genuine risk of the club going out of business.
As of 16:02, Catania was not assigned to an owner and a further court order will now decide whether to close the club down or grant the club an extension of time to find a new owner.
No one showed up today at the auction, even if the Lazio-based entrepreneur Benedetto Mancini had registered a company with a logo and organisation chart in the Chamber of Commerce, entering a share capital of โฌ10 thousand euros and not the โฌ500 thousand euros required by the regulation of the call.
