Chelsea forward open to joining Inter as the Serie A club seeks a loan move this summer

Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a return to Inter ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Calciomercato, the Belgian striker is open to re-joining Inter from Chelsea this summer. But it is understood that Inter could only afford a loan deal for the forward this time, provided that Lukaku lowers his salary to a significant extent.

The 28-year-old currently earns a net salary of around €13-14million at Chelsea. Should he join Inter this summer, he would not be reportedly getting a sum of more than €6-6.5million. Furthermore, Inter have other targets in the market and don’t want to overpay for an asset that made him €100million last summer.

If a summer transfer to Inter doesn’t go through, Lukaku could keep an eye on Antonio Conte’s movement. The current Tottenham Hotspur manager may not be in London next season, with links of him moving to Paris Saint-Germain gathering the pace. Lukaku would love to play under him at PSG. But as the report suggests, these are just hypotheses.
