Chelsea are reportedly plotting a summer transfer for Inter youngster Cesare Casadei. But the Italian club’s asking price for the midfielder remains a stumbling block in a potential deal for the Premier League side.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea’s new offer intends to spend a transfer fee of around €10 million on the arrival of Cesare Casadei this summer. However, Inter continue to demand €15 million in return for the youngster’s services.
Chelsea have already seen their initial offer of around €8 million for the 19-year-old rejected by the 19-time Scudetto winner. As things stand, Chelsea will have to pay a much higher price if they don’t wish to include a buy-back clause while obtaining the player’s signature.
On the other hand, Sassuolo could end up being benefited from this transfer tussle. The Neroverdi are also keen on making a move for the youngster but have chosen to monitor the situation closely for the time being. The report claims that they are willing to take him with the buy-back clause. Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sports director Piero Ausilio are understandably working on the exit of Casadei.
