De Laurentiis opens up on the rumours of him selling Napoli

Aurelio De Laurentiis answered the questions regarding his role at the club, clearing the uncertainty around him as the long-term owner of Napoli.

As quoted by Il Mattino, the Napoli president said,

“Selling Napoli? Right now I don’t think about it. It’s an option that I don’t think about. I’ve never taken into consideration. Napoli is my heart, I too feel the many offers floating in the air, but I’ve never started any negotiations.”

The prominent Italian film producer seized the ownership of the Naples-based club back in 2004. Under his reign, however, the club has not witnessed a great deal of success, with the Parthenopeans continuing their hunt for their first Scudetto in the 21st century.

Thought to be an aspirant for the league title earlier this season, Luciano Spalletti’s men lost track of their ambition after the recent setbacks in Serie A.
