Ex-Real Madrid striker Luka Jović aims to join a bigger club than Fiorentina

Luka Jović moved to Fiorentina from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window of 2022. Following the struggles in the Spanish capital, Jović seemingly wanted to make a decent start to his life in Florence.

But his time in Italy so far has not panned out as planned, with the Serbia international having scored just two goals from 11 appearances in Serie A this season.

Speaking to the Serbian outlet ATV, the 24-year-old admitted that he had offers from other teams in the summer transfer window but eventually decided to take a pay cut and join Fiorentina on a permanent deal.

However, the marksman also talked about his future ambition, declaring that he would like to return to a bigger club. As quoted by Viola News, Jović said,

“I made the decision after thinking of everything and seeing for myself what each offer brought me at that moment. I decided to come to Fiorentina even though I had offers from bigger clubs. Not to mention the economic aspect. Everyone knows that I made financial sacrifices to come here. I think coming to Fiorentina is a good springboard to return to my old form and return to a great club again.”

Having played 18 matches this season, the former Benfica man has garnered six goals in all competitions, with the player enjoying a healthy return of four goals from five matches in the Europa Conference league. Jović has a contract with La Viola until June 2024.
