Federico Chiesa makes much-awaited Juventus return following long-term injury

Federico Chiesa made his much-awaited return to action today during Juventus’ 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Bianconeri took on PSG in an attempt to qualify for the UEFA Europa League and they either needed an outright win or a loss from Maccabi Haifa to head to the Europa League. While they lost 2-1 in what was a spirited performance, the Bianconeri qualified for the Europa League due to Benfica’s 6-1 win over Maccabi Haifa.

But another positive for Juve came in the second half as after being missing for over 250 days, Chiesa returned to action for Max Allegri’s side for the first time since he picked up a serious knee injury back in January.

The Italian also impressed for the Bianconeri, as he showed his trademark willingness and fearlessness to take players on despite having recovered only recently. The winger’s return would be a huge boost for Juve, who are going through a major injury crisis and a poor run of form in general.
