Milan have achieved a vital feat in their history following their win over Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League.
The Rossoneri had to get a point from the game to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League, considering Dinamo Zagreb’s poor goal difference and inferior points tally. They picked up a 4-0 win, thanks to a brace from the impressive Olivier Giroud.
But the win at San Siro means that this is the first time since the 2013/14 season that the Rossoneri have qualified for the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
While they did play in the competition last season, Stefano Pioli side couldn’t go into the next round of the competition and finished rock bottom, meaning that they didn’t even take part in the Europa League. They could rack up only four points last season, as Liverpool and Atletico Madrid went through to the next round.
