Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti achieves historic feat following Celtic win

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has become the most successful manager in the history of European competitions following Los Blancos’ win over Celtic.

Ancelotti’s Real Madrid beat Ange Postecoglou’s Hoops 5-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu, as Luka Modric, Rodrygo, Federico Valverde, Vinicius Junior and Marco Asensio scored a goal each in the game. The win meant that that Real have finished at the top of their group.

But as per data from Transfermarkt, the win means that Ancelotti is now the manager with the most number of wins in all European competitions and he is tied at the top with Roma boss Jose Mourinho. Having said that, Mourinho will have a chance to go one clear of Ancelotti today, as Roma will take on Ludogorets in the Europa League.

With both of them tied at the top, Sir Alex Ferguson is just below them with a tally of 106 and Pep Guardiola has a total of 97 wins so far.
