Former Napoli player: “Manchester United’s appreciation for Kim is natural’

The interest from Manchester United for Napoli centre-back Kim min-Jae has been described as ‘natural’, however a January move seems unlikely.

South Korean defender Kim arrived at Napoli in the summer from Fenerbahce, touted as the replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly, following his departure to Chelsea after eight seasons. The absence of Koulibaly however has not been felt as Kim has quickly established himself in Luciano Spalletti’s side with his impressive performances to date.

Kim’s impressive performances have not gone under the radar, with reports suggesting Manchester United are considering a move, and have noted his €50 million release clause as payable (doesn’t come into effect until next summer).

Italian journalist and ex-Napoli star Beppe Bruscolotti star has commented on the reports (via Napoli Piu ) and he said: “Kim? I heard the news about a supposed interest from Manchester United.”

Bruscolotti went on to say: “For what he is showing, the appreciation of this club is natural. He is an attractive player; his eventual transfer will then depend on many factors.

He however added that he views Kim’s short term future at Napoli: “Kim has found the ideal environment; I don’t think he will say goodbye to the club in January.”
