Giacomo Raspadori “says yes” to Napoli transfer; Sassuolo unwilling to let him go

Understood to be a transfer target for Juventus and Milan earlier this summer, Giacomo Raspadori has multiple suitors in the transfer market. However, Sassuolo is reportedly unwilling to entertain offers for the versatile attacker amid this transfer window.

According to transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are preparing an offer for Sassuolo forward Giacomo Raspadori. President Aurelio De Laurentiis has already insisted that he wants to add young and hungry names to his squad.

The arrivals of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Leo Östigard, and Mathías Olivera are the bona fide manifestation of that idea. With Andrea Petagna ready to leave Napoli for Monza, there will be a void to fill in the attacking department for the Campania club.

Raspadori is considered a suitable candidate to come in and fill the vacated position. The player has already given his consent to a move to Naples. But Sassuolo are reportedly unwilling to listen to offers for the 22-year-old.

Although Sassuolo value Raspadori at around €30 million, the Neroverdi don’t want to lose Gianluca Scamacca and Raspadori in the same transfer window.

The report suggests that Sassuolo should convince the player to sign a contract extension to keep hold of his services for a longer term. As things stand, the player’s contract at the Italian club expires in June 2024. It will be difficult for Napoli to lure the Italy international away from Sassuolo this summer.
