Giorgio Chiellini could leave Juventus for MLS switch

Giorgio Chiellini’s time at Juventus seems over, with the 37-year-old veteran potentially looking for new challenges in Major League Soccer.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiellini has made up his mind about joining a club from MLS next summer, although Chiellini’s contract at Turin will expire in June 2023.

The report even claims that he has already reached an agreement with this unknown MLS side. Chiellini is expected to be one of the superstars that will part ways with the 36-time Serie A champions in the summer.

Chiellini’s departure will mark the end of an era, with the current club captain of Juventus representing Old Lady’s crest in more than 550 matches across all competitions. Apart from nine Serie A titles, Chiellini has won five Coppa Italia and five Supercoppa Italiana.

The report also believes that the game between Argentina and Italy, also known as Finalissima 2022, will be the nine-time Scudetto winner’s last international game for Italy. The game between the champions of Copa America 2021 and Euro 2020 will be held at Wembley Stadium in London on June 1, 2022.
