Lille defender close to Milan move, Newcastle dealt blow

Lille’s Sven Botman is now edging closer to a move to Milan in the summer, despite previous interest from Milan.

Fabrizio Romano has recently reported about the situation of Botman, claiming that the Rossoneri are now ‘really close’ to completing a move for the Dutchman. He is expected to be their first signing of the summer and work is now in progress to complete the deal.

The Rossoneri are working to reach an agreement with Lille and Botman is ready to accept personal terms with the defender. Talks, the journalist claims, are now advanced for the player.

English media had reported in January that Newcastle had made an approach for the defender but the move was rejected. Milan moved early for the player and it now seems as if they will be successful in their approach.

Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to the San Siro as well, with the club having signed Mike Maignan and Rafael Leao from Lille.
