Inter and Juventus interested in Lazio defender

Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi is poised to leave the Italian capital in the summer, with two teams from the same division keeping an eye on his situation.

According to Il Messaggero, Inter and Juventus could sign the wantaway Biancocelesti defender this summer, with Acerbi seemingly determined to leave Maurizio Sarri’s team for pastures new.

The report understands that the player’s entourage had a meeting with Sarri over the future of the 34-year-old centre-back in Rome on Wednesday evening. Acerbi has a contract at Lazio until June 2025.

Despite making 34 appearances in all competitions, Acerbi has looked error-prone at times this season. As for Juventus, it could be the last season for Giorgio Chiellini in Turin. Therefore, they could look at an experienced figure like Acerbi as a potential replacement for Chiellini.

On the other hand, Inter are also looking to bolster their defensive department with a few new arrivals in the summer.
