Inter offered chance to sign Dan-Axel Zagadou

Serie A giants Inter have been offered a chance to sign defender Dan-Axel Zagadou on deadline day.

Zagadou has been linked with a host of Serie A clubs but the defender remains a free agent and the latest club to enter the fray are Inter.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Nerazzurri have been offered the chance to sign the 23-year-old, even if Simone Inzaghi’s prefered choice for a centre-back signing on deadline day remains Francesco Acerbi.

Inzaghi was involved in a transfer meeting yesterday and it also involved Steven Zhang. The manager made it clear that he needs another centre-back but Zhang couldn’t agree to the demand. There is still a possibility that if a suitable option arrives, Zhang can agree to finance a move.

Zagadou’s wage demands are lower than what Acerbi wants and he is available for free – contrary to how Lazio would want a fee to sell Acerbi. The issue in his case is that the player wants a three-year deal and Inter aren’t offering that due to his injury history.

But since he’s a free agent, Zagadou can be signed even after the deadline day today and the option is still open.
