Italy and England have been placed in the same group for the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Italy had beaten England on penalties to win the Euros in 2021 and the teams had faced each other twice during the UEFA Nations League games this time around. Italy had beaten England at Wembley 1-0 in the most recent name, thanks to a goal from Giacomo Raspadori.
The game in Italy had ended 0-0 and Federico Gatti had made his debut for the Azzurri in that tie.
It has now been confirmed that the Three Lions and the Azzurri have been placed in the same group (Group C) for the qualifying stages of 2024’s Euros. Ukraine are also in the group and North Macedonia, who had beaten Italy in their previous meeting and had ended their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup, are also in that group. Minnows Malta are also in Group C.
