Juventus’ Arthur ‘pushes’ to join Arsenal as Chelsea block move for replacement

Juventus midfielder Arthur is pushing to join Arsenal and there is a feeling that the move can happen late in the window.

Daniele Longo has reported that both clubs will have a new meeting for the player on Monday or Tuesday, with the player convinced that he can rediscover his form at the Emirates Stadium under Mikel Arteta. The negotiation will be for a dry loan but one in which Arsenal pay the player’s salary.

Juve want an option for Arsenal to renew the loan on the basis of certain conditions but the more crucial point is their replacement for the Brazilian. They are trying to sign a midfielder and Chelsea have blocked a move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek already.

Max Allegri would like Arthur to leave but he would not want to be short of options in midfield. The feeling is that a deal will go through because of Arsenal’s pressure and the will of the player.
