Juventus forward Federico Chiesa “soon” return to the field

Federico Chiesa sustained a serious injury in the game against Roma earlier this season, ruling himself out of the 2021/22 campaign.

Journalist Giovanni Albanese claims that Chiesa will soon return to running slowly and could make a complete comeback by October 2022.

It is believed that the former Fiorentina winger is making good progress with his rehabilitation. He has already left his crutches, now working on strengthening his leg muscles with the workouts on the exercise bike.

Per the claims, Chiesa could make his return to the group training in September 2022. Since picking up the anterior cruciate ligament injury on the left knee in January, Chiesa has not played a game for the Old Lady. He had to undergo surgery in the Hochrum clinic in Austria.

There are several reports suggesting that Juventus will sign Chiesa on a permanent deal this summer. In his current contract, the 24-year-old has obligation to buy for €40 million and €10 million in variables.

He is also thought to be a potential heir of the Juve’s no. 10 shirt, currently donned by Paulo Dybala. But with Dybala leaving Juventus for free in the summer, Chiesa could be the first Italian to wear the prestigious number after Alessandro Del Piero.
