Juventus interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Ramy Bensebaini

Juventus will look to refurbish their defensive department in the winter transfer window, with Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Ramy Bensebaini considered a potential candidate to come in and be the cover for the likes of Mattia De Sciglio and Alex Sandro.

Citing a report from The Bild, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Juventus are keen on pulling off another Denis Zakaria-esque deal for Ramy Bensebaini in this upcoming January transfer window. Since moving to the German side, the Algeria international has earned global recognition with notable performances under his belt.

However, despite seeing the value of his stock increasing, Mönchengladbach have not managed to bind the player to a new contract in Germany. And thus, the 27-year-old has entered the final year of his contract at Borussia Park.

As Juventus did in the case of Zakaria, they would reportedly consider signing Bensebaini on a permanent deal for a transfer fee between €5 million and €8 million.

Juve would sign him with the expectation to keep him as a cover for De Sciglio and Alex Sandro. But if he fails to match the demands of the Bianconeri, the Old Lady would also be open to selling him in an attempt to ensure a capital gain as they have done with the sale of Zakaria, who joined Chelsea on a season-loan last summer with an obligation to buy worth €30 million.
