Juventus winger Ángel Di María set to miss Bologna and Milan fixtures through suspension

Ángel Di María received a red card for elbowing Armando Izzo in the first half of Juventus’ game against Monza at the weekend.

Although it was a straight red card for an aggressive foul play from the Argentinian, the sports judge ruled on Tuesday that Di María would miss only two games instead of three, confirms a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The suspension has ruled the former Paris Saint-Germain man out of Juve’s Serie A fixtures against Bologna and Milan, respectively.

Following the 1-0 defeat to Monza, the clouds of uncertainties have reemerged to surround the future of Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see how losing a player like Di María for two of the most important games of the 2022/23 season affects Bianconeri and their current manager.

Having collected just 10 points from seven Serie A games this season, Allegri’s Juve stand 8th on the league table. They host Bologna on October 2 and make a trip to Milan on October 8 in Serie A. Nevertheless, Di María should be back for Juve’s Champions League clash against Maccabi Haifa on October 5 and make his league return in Derby della Mole on October 15.
