La Liga side Valencia submit their first bid to Juventus for Arthur Melo

Valencia have initiated talks with Juventus for midfielder Arthur Melo on a loan deal after the player was excluded from the Old Lady’s pre-season squad.

According to a report from Gianluca di Marzio, former Napoli manager Rino Gattuso who has now taken the reins at Valencia, identified Arthur as a suitable reinforcement to his squad and will be looking to wrap up the deal during the ongoing transfer window.

The offer presented by Valencia is of a loan deal with a part of the player’s salary to be paid by Juventus.

The Spanish outfit looks to be the only club in the race to sign the Brazilian with Arsenal wandering off after a few new signings and a return to Barcelona is impossible due to their current financial situation. Arsenal were interested in signing the player in January but they never met the Bianconeri’s demands for the initial loan move.
