Lautaro Martinez’s agent clears the air at Inter after Lukaku’s return from Chelsea

Lautaro Martinez’s future at Inter has always been under multiple questions. But the agent of the striker has come forward to address the speculation.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (as quoted by Passione Inter), Alejandro Camaño, the agent of the Argentinian, elaborated on the relationship between Romelu Lukaku and Martinez. He also dismissed a summer transfer for the 24-year-old this summer by saying:

“He [Lautaro Martinez] and Lukaku are linked, this is evident. Then wearing this shirt is not for everyone. It’s a great thing. Lautaro is happy in Milan, he feels he is a protagonist, loved. And then we should go away for what? Where? We are already at the top…”

Having managed to escape the clutches of Chelsea, Lukaku has completed his move to Italy. Albeit on a season-long loan deal, Lukaku has returned to Inter and will partner with Martinez in Simone Inzaghi’s frontline next season.

The Argentine-Belgian duo got famous while playing under Antonio Conte at the Nerazzurri. Together, the pair racked up 104 goals over two seasons. Inter have agreed to pay Chelsea a loan fee of around €8 million plus add-ons for a reunion with Lukaku.
